Meet Alice J. Miesnik

Having spent her entire career in Catholic education, ALICE J. MIESNIK is now very happily retired. She has been busy dinking on the pickleball court, playing cover songs with her fellow bandmates, The Elderberries, and delving into ancestry, travelling, and reading.  Her self-published memoir Another Way: A Journey of Faith, Love, and Identity traces her journey from her early years in the convent to her life as a dedicated lay, gay Catholic. Alice credits the Marist Brothers of the United States and the welcoming community at St. Joseph’s Parish in Maplewood for making it possible for her to remain Catholic while being comfortable in her own skin. She and her partner Rosa have lived in Maplewood for over twenty-five years.
